The joint union of Nasarawa state tertiary institutions has served the state government for; weeks ultimatum to address its welfare to risk indefinite strike action.
The statement which was; signed by the union chairman, Samuel Bashayi and made available in lafia, stated that the union could be; no longer tolerate the un- seriousness of the state government concern ing the welfare of his members.
It added that the union had given the government another window period to see the implementation of reports of the facts to investigate the activities of the Tertiary institutions. It listed some of its demand to include the implementation of 2015 and 2016 promotion of its members in college of education Akwanga, college of education Agriculture Mafia and Nasarawa state polytechnic Mafia.
The statement how ever said that the government should also pay arrears its annual increments and; pay all the outstanding pension and gratuity of its members who; retired from active device adding let the government use; the window period to implement the recommend action of the fact finding committee.
The statement further state that if the government in it’s characteristic manna of turning down agreement do that the time around then we shall be; left with the option that declares total and indefinite strike in the state .
