The Ahmadu Bello University Students Representative Council has honoured the Group Managing Director of the NNPC Dr. Maikanti Baru with the 2018 Gamji Leadership Award.
Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr Maikanti Baru Speaking at the presentation of the award to the GMD in his office, President of the Council, Comrade Basshit Abubakar, said the choice of Dr. Maikanti for the award was based on his humanitarian services and exemplary leadership throughout his public service career.
Responding, Dr. Baru thanked the students for the recognition, saying the award was; an indication that the services the NNPC was rendering to the nation were; appreciated by Nigerians.
He restated the commitment of the corporation to the development of education in the country; citing the sponsorship of the Annual NNPC National Quiz Competition as part of that commitment.
