The National Youth Service Corps [NYSC] Director Gen Suleiman Kazaure condemned the poor State Orientation camp located at Ikot Itie Udung in Nsit Atai, Akwa Ibom
He said after inspection of the camp facilities when he invited the camp yesterday appealed; to the state government as a matter of urgency to improve on the state facilities in the camp.
He said the Federal Government would continue to do its best to improve their welfare.
Am not satisfied with what i saw he said, the facilities is; below standard.
The statutory responsibility of the state government to provide and maintain all the orientation camp facilities.
We will continue to talk to the state government to see what we can do but facilities are below standard.
The facilities should be highly standard.
The DG called on corps members in the state to be conscious as; the proceed to their places of primary assignment an encouraged primary assignment and encouraged them to make use of security tips they received at the camp.
He charged the corps members to take their skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development [SAED] training serious.
I want to commend you and encourage you to what is; right not to get discouraged so that by the; time you leave here you will be; left with indelible mark in Akwa Ibom.
He charged the corps members to respect the culture and tradition of the host communities and add value to the community.
A musan expressed frustration over the camp’s reliance on the generator for electricity as; the public power supply was not forth coming however .
The 2018 corps members describing them as obedient patriotic respectful and diligent.
