The House of Assembly aspirant Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 2, Oluwafemi Emmanuel Olotu has donated research materials to the Iyaiye-Ojokoro community Library, Lagos.
The councillor representing Ward G at the Ojokoro local council Development Area said he was; inspired to donate the books to library in a bid to contribute his own quota to social development.
He said he was emulating the works of the presence Lagos State Governor.
Also said we need to improve access to books, which will improve the educational aspect of the society.
He said young people do not have places to get books from and read them.
We will reduce the barrier by making the platform free. We encourage to abide by the rules set.
The Director of Libraries stated the importance of libraries. He said that great personalities who succeeded in history were; known users of libraries.
He spelled out an instance John Rockerfeller was; one of the richest in the world and product of the library. If people like these didn’t have access to libraries, what would have become of them?
We need community libraries as well across the communities, he added.
He hinted that the LCDA was building more community schools to increase access; to education and reduce endangering pupils lives which occurs when their schools are far from home.
The aspirant said more efforts will be; made to promote the educational sector and improve the library sector.
