The Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), on Thursday distributed computers and other learning materials to eight special needs schools in the state.
Other items distributed to them included 10,130 copies of assorted textbooks, projectors as well as magic/white boards.
Rev. Philip Tachin, SUBEB Executive Chairman, who presented the items, emphasised the need for quality education to children of special needs to prepare them to compete for opportunities.
Represented by Rev. Samuel Ker, Permanent Member of the board, Tachin said that the items were; procured with intervention funds from the Universal Basic Education Commission, and charged the beneficiaries to use them judiciously.
The items were presented to St. Peters Secondary School, Vandeikya, Divine Love Catholic Girls Secondary School, Katsina-Ala, CVTC Special School, Elum-Oju and CEFN Special School, Onyepa.
Others included School of Gifted and Talented Children, Makurdi, LG Special School for Exceptional Children, Aliade, and two others.
