A United Kingdom based charity organization, devoted to book donation to African Countries; Books2Africa has donated 3,000 volumes of books to Fountain University Library, Osogbo.
The University Librarian, Dr. Abiodun Salman, who received the books on behalf of the management, said the books donated by Books2Africa covered various programmes currently run by the University adding that the books will be judiciously guarded and read by the students.
Dr. Salman noted that the arrival of the new collection of books will further boost the morale of the university in welcoming the National Universities Commission (NUC) on institutional accreditation anytime.
Speaking at the unveiling of the donated books, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Amidu Sanni stressed the need for students to always visit the library to enrich their knowledge in different course of studies.
Prof. Sanni noted that the management would put in more effort at upgrading the University Library; to a world-class standard, saying no amount of money is too much to equip the library; to the benefit of both staff and students of the institution.
He appreciated Books2Africa organization for donating the books to Fountain University; and called on other organizations and philanthropists to do more in the area of educational development.
Management Staff present at the unveiling include the Registrar, Mrs. K.W Sallee, Dean College of Management and Applied Sciences, COMAS, Prof. Goke Lalude, Prof. AbdulLateef Usman, among others.
