Who was Charles Wallace?

Charles Wallace died in 1916. And he bequeathed his modest fortune to his family for a generation. And also does the same for the benefit of those among whom he had made it.

About CWIT
In 1981, following an agreement between the Indian and British governments, CWIT was established as an English charity. Also, it is run by four trustees. And the trustees cover CWIT’s main areas of interest.

They are Dr. Yasmin Khan, Caroline Douglas, Gregor Stark, and Cathy Stephens. The Secretary is Shreela Ghosh. In over 30 years CWIT has made around 2700 grants. The Charles Wallace India Trust holds the personal data of applicants for grants.

1. Grants for Doctoral Study in the UK
This is one of the Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships. CWIT offers some of these grants to those Indian students.
However, they are to be in the final phase of their doctorates at Universities In The Uk. Subjects covered under this grant include arts.

2. Short Research and Professional Visits
Also, this is one of the Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships. And it gives around 10 to 15 grants of the amount. Also, USD 1799 is offered annually for short research or professional visits.

Generally, these grants are sufficient for up to three weeks. However, for applicants to stay longer in the UK, they have to supplement the grant.

3. Long-Term Grants

However, until now, the trust has awarded around 2,700 long-term grants. Also, the awards cover fees. Also, they cover living and accommodation costs in the UK.

4. Visiting Fellowships
Also, this is one of the Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships. Here, CWIT provides 10 fellowships to qualified translators, writers, and academicians.

Eligibility for the Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships
The applicant should be an Indian citizen living in India. Also, you must be aged between 25 and 38. And you must have a first degree.
