The chief of naval staff (CNS) vice admiral ebuk-ette ibas said the newly licensed admiralty university will expand maritime education in nigeria.
He spoke during the presentation of provisional licenses to admiralty university; and five other university and national universities commission (NUC) in Abuja.
Ebuk-ette Ibas said for the admiralty university; this establishment was motivated simply by the desire to expand and the frontiers of education particularly maritime education in nigeria.
He said it as established with public private partnership between the Nigerian navy investment arm. The navy holdings limited and Hellenic educational limited as the special purpose vehicle.
Vice Admiral said the intention was a create an academic centre excellence in maritime studies; logistics management, oil and gas technologies environmental services; and research and development capabilities for the benefit of the nigerian navy and the general public.
