GUIDELINES FOR HAVING ADMISSION INTO UNICAL

The university of calabar began with academic work as institution in october 1976 with 896 students and staff of 156. the male students are know as malabites while the female students are malabresses.

The male hostels is called malobo, unical students are about 40,645. the current vice chancellor of unical is Professor James Epoke,. The university has one graduate school 10 faculties and 3 institutes.

The Objectives of Unical

1 To encourage the advancement knowlege of learning and to hold out to all the persons without distinctions of race, political conviction the opportunity of acquiring liberal education.

2 to encourage and promote scholarship and conduct research in all fields of learning and human endeavour.

3 To undertake any other activities appropriate for a university of the highest standards.

4 To relate activities to the social, cultural and economic needs of the people of Nigeria.

THE UNIVERSITY OF CALABAR ADMISSION REQUIREMENT AND PROCESS.

The steps for gaining admission into unical;

Your expected to have WAEC AND NECO results with 5 credits.

The students are expected to write the UTME examination with minimum score 180.

The student are expected to have the cut off mark expected of the course intended to study.

To get admission into post graduate school for postgraduate Diploma, prospective students are expected to be graduates of recognized universities to have an upper credit level pass at HND.

For masters degree, the candidates is expected to have relevant post graduate diploma from the masters degree. post graduate diplomas from the credit level passes or first degrees scores of 50% or above.

For PHD students are expected to have obtained a masters degree appropriate for the proposed areas of study with a minimum of 350 grade point on 5 scale.
