The chairman of the Joint Action Committee [JAC] at the Federal University of Technology, Akure [FUTA] MR. Dele Durojaje said the strike action union may commence next week.
The strike action became imperative due to failure of the federal government to honour its pact in the agreement to reach the unions five weeks ago.
The union had embarked on strike action September last year in order to demand for the implementation of he National industrial court judgment on the issue of the university staff teachers salaries and funding the university system.
The Minister of labour DR. Chris Ngige SIGN A Memorandum of term settlement between; the representatives of the unions and the government which culminate the suspension of strike action.
The unions said the Federal government has failed to implement the agreement between; the union and the government.
The National executive council Senior Staff Association Of Nigerian Universities will be; meeting next week which will exhaustively discussed the way forward.
NASU has taken a action last week at its National Executive Council Meeting.
