We Mange HR seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join our valued client as a Shipper/Receiver in SE Calgary, AB. This role plays a vital part in the company’s supply chain operations, contributing to the smooth flow of products in and out of the facility.
Shipping and Receiving:
- Receive incoming shipments, inspect for damage, and verify contents against purchase orders.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate labeling, documentation and quality standards.
- Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse layout.
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or overages to the supervisor.
- Ensure the proper storage of products, following safety guidelines and regulations.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing products for quality and accuracy.
- Report any discrepancies, damaged items, or product defects to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards and procedures.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and report any malfunctions.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving activities.
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other required documentation.
- Provide reports and updates to the warehouse supervisor as necessary.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while handling goods and operating equipment.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and carriers to coordinate shipments.
- Communicate any delays or issues related to shipments promptly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years experience in shipping and receiving in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
- Forklift certification and experience operating warehouse equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to warehouse operations.
- This role primarily involves working in a machine shop environment.
- The position may require lifting, carrying, and moving heavy items.
- The Shipper/Receiver may be exposed to varying temperatures and weather conditions depending on the warehouse setup.
- Work hours may include shifts, weekends, and overtime as required to meet operational demands.
Note: The hourly wage rate for this position is $23 per hour.
