The Governor of Lagos state Akinwumi Amode, on thursday said graduates of polytechnics and colleges of technology should use their training and create jobs and become employers of labour.
The Governor during THE 26th convocation says this at lagos state polytechnic in Ikorodu.
Ambode, who was represented by the Dupty Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule, noted that the economic climate of the country required that young entrepreneurs be determined to create wealth and employment opportunities.
No society can develop without good investment in the education of its citizens, or providing an enabling environment for ideas to thrive.
In his address, the Polytechnic Rector, Mr. Samuel Sogunro said, by becoming job creators, you will be playing your part in stemming down the level of hopelessness among young graduates who seek the non-readily available white collar jobs.
Sogunro named the overall best graduating student as Omotoyosi Fatogun, with Cumulative Grade point Aggregate [CGPA] of 3.81 in the school of pure and applied sciences, department of science and laboratory Technology.
