More than 5.3 million people have contracted the novel coronavirus, Covid-19, around the world; 188 countries and territories. At least 341,000 people have died from the complications arising from the virus globally while about 1.9 million patients have recovered, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has since labelled Covid-19 a pandemic but there are still a handful of countries that have not yet reported any cases, according to a report by Al Jazeera.
