About The Ongoing National Young Farmers Scheme



Registrations is currently ongoing on National Young Farmer 2020 website. You can be a part of the National Young Farmer programme 2020/2021. This programme is part of the empowerment scheme which the Federal government is recently introducing to the Nigerian youth populace. The National Young Farmers 2020 is now open to the public.
The National Agricultural and Land Development Agency (NALDA) is responsible for these project and the aim is to educate, inform and encourage the youth to enable them participate actively in the agricultural sector of the nation.

According to news sources, 1000 farmers will be trained from across the 774 Local Governments nationwide aimed at improving the agriculture of the nation. NALDA will recruit 1000 farmers from each of 774 LGAs across the country. All information has been published on NALDA Application website.

The National Young Farmer Scheme will help the Nigerian Youths see the various business and wealth creation opportunities available in the agricultural sector of the economy. As a result, the rate of unemployment within the country will be drastically reduced. The National Young Farmer Scheme is a great initiative by the government.

General Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants applying for the NALDA recruitment must possess any of the following.

Possession of B.Sc, HND, NCE, OND in any discipline from a recognized institution
Applicants must not be above 35 years old
West African School Certificate (WASC) or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) with Credits in not less than three (3) subjects including English and at least passes in two (2) other subjects; or
Candidates must have National Examination Council (NECO)/General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with passes in four (4) subjects obtained at one sitting or five (5) subjects obtained at two sittings including the English Language.)
National Diploma (ND) obtained from a recognized institution. National Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognized institution; or General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) in two (2) subjects obtained at one sitting or three (3) subjects obtained at two sittings.
Must be computer literate.
