Registration fees for the 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in public schools have been absorbed by government.
“Please take note of the following issues: re-sitters are to register for the BECE for private candidates; the registration fee per candidate is GHS75 and applicable to candidate in private junior high schools. Government will absorb the registration fees for candidates in the public junior high schools. A statement by West African Examination Council (WAEC) dated November 6, 2017 said.
“Please ensure; that the correct type; of school (private or public); is; indicated; during the registration of the candidates as this has implication on payment of fees for the examination.
“Kindly provide the Council with a list of private and public junior high schools in your district; to enable us validate input by the schools. The Council will nullify entries of private schools that select school type wrongly; and thereby do not pay fees,” the statement added.
