NYSC DG Urges Synergy Among Camp Officials.
The Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, has appealed for a stronger working relationship among all stakeholders to ensure success during the forthcoming 2017 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course.
He made this appeal in his keynote address at the 2017 Batch ‘B’ Pre-Orientation meeting held in Kaduna.
He urged the participants to rub minds and come up with modalities that would guarantee a successful conduct of the Orientation.
The Director-General said; the management was committed to improving the orientation course content to address contemporary needs, including those occasioned by the continuous rise in Corps population.
Kazaure, who spoke on the ongoing resuscitation of the Scheme’s farm settlements across the country and the planned posting of Corps Members to the farms for training; said sensitization of the Corps members on the initiative; would be incorporated in the Orientation Course content.
The Director-General stated that the management’s intervention in the construction; and renovation of structures in some orientation camps would also provide conducive environment; for the conduct of Orientation .
He also commended the initiatives of some State Coordinators in mobilizing resources; for improvement of facilities in their camps for the comfort of Corps Members.
He urged the State Coordinators to reach out to State and Local Governments; and persuade them to discharge their statutory obligations to the Scheme.
Kazaure further directed them to take proactive steps for proper management of health issues in the camps.
“State Coordinators are to collaborate with officials of the State Ministry of Health. And other Federal Health Institutions on preventive measures not only against Monkey-Pox, but also other contagious diseases”.
” You are to also ensure timely referral of serious health cases to secondary health care facilities”, he said.
