Rivers State Government has commenced the process for the recruitment of unemployed Rivers youth to reduce the spate of insecurity and boost manpower development in the state.
This is geared towards actualising the employment of the 10,000 teachers and 4,000 non-teaching staff promised by the Wike’s government.
Our correspondent, who visited some computer centres where; the online registration for the vacant jobs is ongoing, reports that many applicants were; seen uploading their personal data to ensure they meet the required deadline; before the closure of the official portal.
It would be recalled that the state government had recently announced that it would be; recruiting 10,000 teachers and 4,000 non-teaching staff as a drastic measure to improve the education in the state.
However, The Tide investigation shows that many residents had thought that the government’s pronouncement was a mere political gimmick.
Confirming the commencement of the recruitment exercise, the media aide to the state Commissioner for Education, Mr. Iyowuna Obomanu said the process had commenced as directed by the state government.
Obomanu said applicants for the 10,000 teaching jobs must be graduates with education-based certificates, while the 4,000 non-teaching applicants must be those without education-based certificates and others with lower degrees.
He advised applicants for the teaching and non-teaching jobs to log-on to http://www.RivJob.ng and register their personal details while uploading their credentials, adding that when they upload and click on the apply job, the application form would be accessed.
According to him, successful applicants would be; subjected to both online aptitude test and oral interview, adding that the processes were ongoing.
“The process had commenced, applicants are to log in at www.Rivjob.ng, upload their credentials, click for job and the application form will be out, all these are online”, he added.
