Applicants must be South Sudanese and will usually have a Ph.D. or equivalent research experience.
Applicants should not have numerous previous academic publications
Applicants must have original empirical research in the social sciences or humanities that they hope to write-up into an academic article of about 8000 words to submit to an international peer-reviewed journal by November 2021.

2. The Gordon Memorial College Trust Fund Awards
The Gordon Memorial College Trust Fund awards scholarships to Sudanese and South Sudanese nationals studying a postgraduate course in the UK who plan to return to Sudan at the end of their studies. Organizations undertaking educational activities and projects in South Sudan and Sudan are also eligible for funding.

The Trust was established in 1899 by public subscription to honor the name of General Charles George Gordon of the British army, who was killed during the Mahdi’s uprising in 1885.

Gordon Memorial College, an educational institution in Sudan, was built between 1899 and 1902 as part of Lord Kitchener’s wide-ranging educational reforms, and also named in honor of Gordon. In 1924, the college was merged with the new Khartoum University, as was the Kitchener School of Medicine.

Requirements and Eligibility
In awarding grants, priority will be given to students who are already enrolled on a course in the UK, rather than those wanting to embark on new postgraduate courses.

A letter of support from the student’s course supervisor is essential. Applications will not be considered without such a letter.

In awarding grants, preference will be given to those applicants whose chosen courses will enable them to contribute to the skills base of South Sudan or Sudan, and who demonstrate their intention to return to South Sudan or Sudan after their studies.

3. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program (MCFSP)
The University of Gondar is providing scholarships for undergraduate and master’s degree programs for students with disabilities through the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. ONLY the Graduate scholarship programme is open to applicants for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The Graduate Scholars Program is designed to help Scholars to acquire transformational and leadership skills and demonstrate high professional and scholarly competencies to effectively influence global, regional, national and local socioeconomic development trends.

Eligibility:
Graduate scholarships (for September 2018) are open for Ethiopian applicants who have the minimum CGPA in an undergraduate program from a recognized higher education institution and.
Applicants will be considered based on:

visual, hearing or mobility disability, financial need, leadership and community giveback experience or potential
Graduate applicants must be in or applying to one of the following programs: physiotherapy, nursing, sociology, psychology, law

4. Peace Revolution’s Amandla Eastern & Southern Africa Fellowship
The fellowship offers 4 days intensive training program providing participants with deeper insight in the relationship between inner peace and sustainable world peace through mindfulness and meditation and enhancing their ability to create peace within their family, professional and social environment.

To be eligible, applicants should:

Be 20-32 years old at the time of submitting the application in order to receive the airfare support.

International successful applicants shall pay a commitment fee of 100 USD while local participants pay USD 50 before the arrival to the retreat site (by Bank transfer or Western Union)
Scholarship Worth:
The four days fellowship will set up to 50 participants on a lifelong inner peace journey. The Amandla Fellowship Includes:

5. UNESCO/Sri Lanka Co-sponsored Fellowships Programme
Beneficiaries of these two fellowships will undertake their first year of study, which will commence in November 2020, under the scheme of UNESCO/Sri Lanka Co-sponsored Fellowships Programme.

From the second year until the completion of the study programme, the fellows will be sponsored solely by the Government of Sri Lanka under the Government Scholarship Scheme.

Eligibility:
Candidates must have impressive results at an examination deemed equivalent to G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination of Sri Lanka or qualifications required for admission to a university in their home country to follow a bachelor’s degree. All required passes should be obtained in one and the same sitting.

7. Faculty of Science Postgraduate Elite Scholarships (Africa) at the University of Strathclyde

The British Council is aiming to increase connections between the UK creative sectors and young creative professionals in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Scholarship Description

Course Level: Grants are available to pursue research for young creative professionals.
Study Subject: The British Council will award up to 9 grants of £2,500 (each) to proposals to undertake research of your chosen artistic sector & travel in the Sub-Saharan Region between April 2019 and March 2020. 9. UWC School of Public Health Postdoctoral Fellowships for Sub-Saharan Africans in South Africa
The UWC School of Public Health is inviting applications for Postdoctoral Fellowships in the field of Health Policy and Systems linked to the two NRF/DST SARChI Chairs in the School for the year 2019. Students from Sub-Saharan Africa are eligible to apply.

The purpose of the SARCHI Postdoctoral Fellowship is to contribute to career development in HPSR; building the field of HPSR with partners in South Africa and internationally; enhancement of the capacity of the UWC School of Public Health.

Have achieved a Ph.D. in Public Health or a related field in the last five years. For applicants who did not obtain

Have a strong academic record with evidence of research experience and peer-reviewed publications.

A Ph.D. degree (achieved within 2 years of this application) in an area of Human Genetics, Molecular/Cell Biology or Bioinformatics.

Study Subject: The Division of Human Genetics invites highly motivated individuals to apply for a Genetics Postdoctoral Research Fellowship to be part of a multidisciplinary team of experts as part of the Hearing Impairment Genetics Study in Africa (HIGeneS Africa) project under the directorship of Prof Ambroise Wonkam.
The fellowship is valued at R300 000 per annum. The fellowship may be renewed for a second year depending on satisfactory progress and mutual agreement.
