Investigators say a student was; found dead on the campus of Catholic University late Wednesday morning.
The male student was; found in an “unconscious state” in his room in Opus Hall.
The hall is a “suit-style living arrangement for upper-class residents, according to Catholic University’s website.
Opus Hall is located on 620 Michigan Ave. in Northeast Washington.
Police said there are no suspicious circumstances during the early stages of the investigation.
Catholic University President John Garvey released a statement on the student’s death:
To the University Community,
It is with great sadness that I inform you that an undergraduate male student here at The Catholic University of America was found dead this morning in his room in Opus Hall.
His parents have been notified. We are withholding the student’s identity until all the family members have been notified. We will keep you informed as we are able to release more information.
I would like to invite you all to join me in praying for the student and his family.
