The Vice-Chancellor, Students caught in Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State, Professor Lawan Sani Taura, has asked; students to shun drug abuse.
He made the call at; the 5th matriculation ceremony of the newly admitted students for the 2018/2019 academic session which was; held on February 5, 2019.
Professor Taura further enjoined the students caught to steer clear of all social vices such as; examination malpractice, theft, cultism, absenteeism and other untoward behaviours during and after; their stay in the university. He urged them; to face their studies seriously and avoid; being distracted by; the side attractions and euphoria for; academic freedom in the campus.
The vice-chancellor then highlighted some of the achievements recorded in the university recently to include full accreditation of 13 out of their 15 programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC), graduation of the pioneer UTME and Direct Entry students and the successful convocation ceremony in their own respect, among others.
A total of 984 students caught and were; admitted into; the university and 921 were; registered for; the 2018/2019 academic session across the three faculties of Humanities which had 363 students, Natural and Applied Sciences with 363 and Faculty of Education with 245.
