Prof Zana Akpagu the VC of university of calabar warns student to desist from cultism and other forms of crime.


He said serious action will be; taken by the school authority, on those cult groups.

Akpagu gave the warning on matriculation ceremony day which involves 9,200 students for the 2017/2018 academic session.


He sayed that occasion marked the official entry of every new student into the higher institution of learning since it was; statutory gathering to formally admit qualified candidates.

He said that the matriculation concludes the admission process of the university of calabar.

The VC said that penalties of misconducts is; contained the university handbook.

He advised them to show respect to the colleagues and staff of the university so as to make their stay fruitful and productive .

The VC assured students of maximum security in the university, while appealing that; they should not hesitate to report any suspicious activity to the Dean, students Affairs; security Officers and the courses advisers.

The VC assured the student of uninterrupted power supply from the solar energy; and includes scholarship awarded to deserving students.
